We will start the two day tour as the overnight stay at Kandy. Kandy is a city in central Sri Lanka which considered as the cultural capital of the country. Before the country went under British colonies the Sinhalese Kingdom was established in Kandy till 1815. We still can see some of the historical sites around.
It is advisable to have an early start of the day as there are many exciting list of sites to cover during the day. Here are some of the exciting sites that you can cover during the tour.
Elephant Orphanage & related activities.
On the way to Kandy we are passing the town Pinnawala which is known for Sri Lanka’s larges elephant orphanage which gives home for around 90 elephants. You could whiteness the baby elephants are fed milk & they having a river bath. (Entry tickets included in the package).
In addition to the orphanage visit, there are many other activities such as elephant feeding, washing & rides by yourselves at additional cost at your choice.
We are celebrating 150 years on tea exports. The “Ceylon Tea” still earns the highest demand in the world market. Will visit a tea plantation & a short visit to a tea factory situated closer to Kandy.
Temple of Tooth
The sacred tooth relic of load Buddha is secured at the main temple in Kandy, The temple is made in the 16th century with artistic craftsmanship. The site is mostly crowded with locals & Buddhist from all-over the world. Please ensure to have a suitable dress code for the temple visit.
Gems & Wooden arts with Kandyan craftsmanship
Sri Lanka soil is very much rich with wide range of gems. In a small island we get many varieties of gems & stones that can never be seen in any other location in the world. The Blue sapphires found in the island is unique.
Royal Botanical Garden
This is one of the other exiting site during the excursion. The Garden is set to established by the Sinhalese kings in 14th century & spread over 47 acres with wide range of beautiful plants & flowers. This is the home for many rare plants.
Kandyan Cultural Show
By the evening, we will be watching a collection of Kandyan cultural events. The artists are dressed with elegant traditional costumes. The program will take approx. one hour.

Based on the availability of the hotels by the booking day we will have a stay at one of the below hotel or similar.
Oak Ray Regency, Muduna Walawwa resort, Earls Regent….. Dinner & Breakfast included.
The day two will be started at 7.00 am after breakfast.
Spice & Herbal Garden
Sri Lanka is popular since ancient times for a wide range of spices, herbs & related herbal treatments. The quality of the Sri Lankan spices including Cinnamon are unmatched with any other origin in the world. On our way from Kandy to Sigiriya we can drop in at an herbal garden & spend some time.
Dambulla Cave Temple
Dambulla Cave Temple – is located in a natural set of caves on a rock which is approx. 150 meters above the surface. This temple is also called as “Golden Temple” as well. The cave has been first developed as a temple by a King Watta Gamini Abhaya in 1st century BC and have gone through renovations at many stages of the history. The colourful roof paintings on cave which spread over 2,100 sq meters are identifies as belongs to 2nd century through up to 16th century. The site is declared as a world heritage by UNESCO.
Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress
Sigiriya can be considered as the most popular tourist destination as well as treated as the 8th world wonder by many. Rising 200 meters vertically from the flat pains, Sigiriya Rock provides you with one of the most dramatic sites in Sri Lanka. Top of this rock contains ruins of an ancient palace complex, built during the reign of King Kasyapa (477AD – 495 AD) and surrounding rock is the Royal Garden.
Some of the architectural aspects of the site & the water management mechanisms are still a mystery. The world renowned frescos of waist up women adding beauty to the site. Considering the security arrangements around the site it had been truly a fortress.
